Research

to consult and plan with patients whenever possible on the facilities and provision of services
to bring a sense of ownership and partnership between practice staff and patients
to give practice staff and patients the opportunity to discuss topics of mutual interest
to allow patients to make positive suggestions about the practice and their own healthcare
to develop self-help projects to meet the needs of fellow patients
to act as a representative group that can be called upon to influence the local provision of health and social care.

This practice contributes in research with the Primary Care Research Network (PCRN). This research may be for a variety of reasons including research into disease, drug safety and public health. From time to time we search patients' medical records for suitable subjects who may then be offered the opportunity to take part in a particular research project or trial. Occasionally anonymised records may also be used for research purposes. You do not have to participate in any research or trial if you do not wish to and this will not affect your care in any way.

If you do not wish your records to be searched for this purpose please let us know; your wishes will be respected.
